Gardens of Madeira

Madeira's Botanical Garden has a landscaped area of about 5 hectares and is home to a significant and diverse collection of plant species (approximately 3,000) that originate from ecologically distinct regions around the globe. Plants are identified by their name, common name, family, and place of origin throughout the garden, and grouped in several main collections, with the following highlights: Madeira's endemic species include the arboretum, succulents, choreographed gardens and topiary, agro industrial plants, aromatic and medicinal plants, palms and cycads, and landscaped areas.
